My name is Dorothy Carroll, I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. I graduated from Jefferson County International Baccalaureate with an Advanced Academic Diploma from the state of Alabama and a diploma from the IBO.

I am a political science major with an emphasis in Democracy, Justice, and Civic Engagement and a minor in International Relations. In Fall 2017, I studied in Washington, D.C., through the Washington Semester, with an internship at the U.S. Department of Justice. I will graduate in May 2018.

Ferrum has become a place I call home and the honors’ students, along with other students on campus, have become my family. I stay busy while I am at Ferrum. I am a student athlete (cross country), a resident assistant, president of Delta Phi Epsilon and co-founder of No Labels, a member of Lion’s Club, an SGA senator, and member of the Honors Advisory Council. I also work with Vanessa Stone in the Resident Life office.

After Ferrum, I plan to attend law school. I would like to live in the District of Columbia, and I aspire to be a justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.
