What is Panther PAWS?

Panther PAWS is an event involving new students and their parents or other family members. New Ferrum families come to campus for a day to make new friends, learn about the college, and meet administrators, professors, and staff members.

What can Panther PAWS do for you?

• Introduce you to other Ferrum Students,
• introduce you to many of the people who will work with you here,
• help you and your parents or family members learn about services provided by the college,
• and give you the opportunity to talk with faculty about the academic program and classes at Ferrum.

Who should come to Panther PAWS?

All students who have been admitted to Ferrum College and have paid their $250 deposits must come to one of the PAWS sessions, which are scheduled throughout the summer. Parents, guardians, or one or two other family members are strongly encouraged to attend, as well.

How do you register for PAWS?

PAWS registration is on-line through Panther Tracks.  There are currently seats available for all of this year's PAWS sessions, but we expect some to fill quickly.

You must submit the Course Preference Questionnaire and Student Readiness Inventory (SRI) before registering for PAWS. In addition, follow any links that appear on your Panther Tracks page to indicate required placement tests.  If you have completed all of these tasks and registered by the appropriate deadline, you will receive your fall semester class schedule during PAWS. We will send confirmation of your registration shortly before your scheduled PAWS session.
