Outdoor Recreation

Use of the natural environment is an integral part of the curriculum and is supported by the Ferrum Outdoors program.  By providing opportunities for the student body to participate in adventure pursuits, Ferrum Outdoors affords the Outdoor Recreation minor the opportunity to develop, implement and evaluate programs while gaining valuable technical and leadership skills.

   REC 139 Orienteering 1
   REC 260 Foundations of Recreation and Leisure 3
   REC 321 Outdoor Recreation Concepts & Programs or REC 361 Outdoor Education 3
   REC 343 Facilitation of Adventure Pursuits 3

      Outdoor Leadership Certification is available to students who complete the following courses with a grade of “B” or better.
