Spanish at Ferrum offers students a unique opportunity to follow an engaging and dynamic course of study. Our Spanish majors and minors are involved in a variety of activities including Study Abroad, local and international Service Learning, internships, and individual and collaborative research projects. Learning Spanish at Ferrum College implies active learning and real-life applications of traditional course contents.

Ferrum student in SpainFerrum Students studying abroad:

All Spanish majors and minors are encouraged to study abroad for an e-term, a summer, or a semester. We have programs in Alicante and Sevilla, Spain, and in Córdoba, Argentina. We also have faculty-led e-term programs each year. In May of 2012 we plan to go to Honduras.

What can I do with a major in Spanish?

A major or a minor in Spanish helps to improve skills in communication, critical thinking and analysis, and human relations. Knowing a foreign language can be helpful in almost any field, and many graduate programs require knowledge of a foreign language as a requirement for admission.
