Ferrum maintains a tradition of offering a comprehensive academic program in accord with a liberal arts core. We strive to provide education in a Christian context and to maximize students' chances for success by providing one-on-one support, individual attention and positive reinforcement. The curriculum includes opportunities for career preparation as well as personal development in order to help each student fulfill his or her personal educational goals.
Getting the most out of your academic career
Ferrum College offers 30 majors and 37 minors, a student-faculty of 17:1. The college strives to provide pre-professional learning opportunities by offering a wide array of internships in its majors. Ferrum students get hands-on learning experience during Experiential Term, a three-week summer term that focuses on unique learn-by-doing experience. The expanded Boone Honors Program provides its students with in-depth opportunities to explore an array of intellectual, social and ethical issues. Our diverse International programs give our students a global perspective. Ferrum students have the opportunity to embody the college's motto, "Not self, but others," through the Bonner and Service Learning programs. Ferrum offers a broad range of academic support services and is proud of its dedicated award-winning faculty.

Experiential Term (E-Term) is a three week term which offers a variety of two, three and four credit hour courses for all students enrolled at Ferrum College. Courses offered in E-Term are from across the curriculum and focus on giving students hands-on learning experiences.
The Boone Honors Program provides its students with in-depth opportunities to explore an array of intellectual, social and ethical issues.
Ferrum College takes part in a number of highly successful international programs, which both bring international students to our campus and offer unique study abroad and internship opportunities to American students studying at Ferrum.
Service Learning and the Bonner Program
Ferrum College's motto is "Not self, but others." Students participtating in these programs have the opportunity to learn by making a difference in the Ferrum community and their hometowns.
