- February 12, 2001: Spectrum sponsored a "National Freedom to Marry Day" table. We gave out
lavendar ribbons and "Choose Love" texts (from Marc Adams). Over 70 people sported ribbons by 3pm!
- On Tuesday, November 30, 1999, Marc Adams, Lambda Literary Award Finalist and Silver
Pen Award recipient, and author of "The Preacher's Son" (autobiographical) spoke
at an invitation-only dinner/program at Ferrum College. For more information on Marc Adams,

- On Monday, April 19, 1999, Michael Romanello, co-founder of the National Gay Lobby
(http://www.NationalGayLobby.org), spoke at Ferrum College to speak on lobbying, NGL,
and on the last 30 years of the "Gay Rights Movement". The format for this event is interactive!
Please do not come to try to get us into a heated debate; do not come to harass.

- 5 members of Spectrum went to Washington D.C. on January 5th and 6th to lobby Congress on the National Day of Lobby in support of the Hate Crimes Bill.
- Spectrum sponsored a panel discussion on Homosexualiy and the Scriptures on 9 November, 1998, in the Panther's Den/
- Spectrum sponsored a panel discussion on 18 November 1997 on the Issue of Homosexuality as it has been approached by scholars in the fields of Religion, Psychology, Biology, Social Work, and History.
- Spectrum took a field trip to a Bookstore, and went to lunch in downtown Roanoke, VA on 7 February 1998.
- Spectrum sponsored a reading 17 March 1998, from 11am-2pm in the Panther's Den.
- Spectrum sponsored a panel discussion on Marriage and Cohabitation on Thursday, March 26, 1998, in the Recital Hall in Grousebeck at 7:00 p.m. Panelists discussed traditional marriage, cohabitation, and same-sex unions.
- On 8 April 1998, Ferrum College participated in the National Day of Silence. (Participation of individuals is optional).
- Spectrum sponsored a panel discussion on Same-Sex Unions and the Alcohol Policy in the Panther's Den.
