Ferrum College Faculty Member and Conference Coordinator Chosen as Artist Ambassador

Ferrum College faculty member Nell Fredericksen will serve as an Artist Ambassador during the Virginia Commission for the Arts Art Works for Virginia Conference in Richmond on January 29 & 30, 2013.

Fredericksen, who lives in Ferrum, is a Professional Juried member of the Artisan Center of Virginia, a designation that recognizes her level of expertise and achievement as a practicing artist entrepreneur. As an Artist Ambassador, she will join a group of Virginia artists of the highest caliber who represent the highest of quality workmanship and art in Virginia for their media category.  Fredericksen will have a full display of her own jewelry at the conference as well as examples of work by fellow jewelers, Sara Muse and Ali Wieboldt.

Fredericksen has been a professional goldsmith/fine art jeweler for more than 25 years.  She is also a professional potter and stained glass designer. Fredericksen is the Ferrum College Women’s Leadership Conference Coordinator, one of the multidisciplinary faculty teaching the Holocaust course, and the faculty member behind the College’s Wall of Remembrance.
