Ferrum College Adds Daily Shuttle Service to its FloydFestPLUS! Packages Offered July 26 — 29

New “Learn & Lodge” packages include FloydFest tickets plus shuttle service to and from the Festival site, lodging and special Blue Ridge music educational programs.

Ferrum, Va. (July 12, 2012) – Ferrum College announced today the addition of shuttle service to its FloydFestPLUS! “Learn & Lodge” packages. Offered July 26 — 29 in conjunction with FloydFest, these new packages include festival admission, daily shuttle service to and from the festival site, lodging in one of the College’s newest dorms, breakfasts and take-away lunches, plus special educational programs at the Blue Ridge Institute & Museum. For festival goers who’ve already purchased their FloydFest passes, the College is also offering a “Learn & Lodge” and meals-only package.

“Ferrum College is excited to now offer FloydFestPlus! patrons the option of daily transportation to and from the FloydFest site by way of the Crooked Road,” said Ferrum College Vice President for Institutional Advancement Kim Blair. “With shuttle service, comfortable lodging, and hot showers plus educational programs offering insight into the region’s musical history, Ferrum’s new ‘Learn & Lodge’ packages are a great option for music lovers.”

The FloydFestPLUS! educational programs include a Crooked Road Music Trail lecture given at 10 a.m., Friday, July 27, by Blue Ridge Institute Executive Director Roddy Moore and Assistance Director Vaughan Webb as well as a performance at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 28, by the Dry Hill Draggers, a talented local group of string musicians that includes the sons of some of the founding “old time” band members who carry on the traditions of the area’s vibrant musical heritage.
