Blue Ridge Dinner Theater to Present The Curious Savage

6/22/2012

John Patrick’s gentle comedy is a “gift to us all,” according to one reviewer.

Ferrum, Va. (June 22, 2012) – The Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre, the oldest dinner theatre in southwest Virginia, will present The Curious Savage in Sale Theatre on the Ferrum College campus for matinee performances on June 27 and June 28, and evening performances on June 30 and July 6.

Underwritten by WSLK and Smith Mountain Lake Family Practice, The Curious Savage is a “gift to us all,” according to one reviewer. John Patrick’s gentle comedy takes place in a mental institution where Mrs. Savage’s children placed her. It seems ten million dollars is missing and Mrs. Savage (portrayed by Jody D. Brown) has forgotten where she put it. That is reason enough for her stepchildren to put her away. Peopling this "nuthouse" is the typical lot of loveable crazies, or at least that is what we’re led to believe.

Located at Ferrum College in Ferrum, Va., and the oldest dinner theatre in southwest Virginia, the Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre is now in its 33rd season. Last year, the company played to more than 7,000 people in Sale Theatre on the College campus and over 10,000 children and adults enjoyed its Jack Tales show.

Meals are served before matinee and Saturday performances. For reservations or more information, call 540-365-4335 or email brdt@ferrum.edu.
