2012 Southwest Shootout Recruiting Lacrosse Camp Held on the Ferrum College Campus
FERRUM, Va. (July 11, 2012) -- The 2012 Southwest Shootout Recruiting Lacrosse Camp is in session this week on the Ferrum College campus. This is a premier recruiting camp for high school lacrosse players in the United States.
Run by Ferrum Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Mark Frey, the Southwest Shootout offers a three-day, overnight team camp that provides the perfect environment for lacrosse players to showcase their skills to some of the best college coaches throughout the country.
"We are excited to have the Southwest Shootout at Ferrum this year," said Frey. "It is a great opportunity to promote Ferrum lacrosse and the campus."
This week, the Southwest Shootout features 11 teams and 220 players from California, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Campers are using Ferrum's lacrosse, football and soccer facilities for games and clinics. Players and coaches are being housed in the College's residence halls and taking meals at the cafeteria inside Franklin Hall.
Over the last three days, Ferrum had over 30 college coaches from NCAA Division I, II and III schools on hand to observe players. For more information on the Southwest Shootout Recruiting Lacrosse Camp, please visit www.bdflacrosse.com.
